About Tikal
Tikal is one of the most spectacular archaeological sites in the Americas. This ancient Maya city was one of the most powerful kingdoms in the Mayan world, reaching its peak between 200-900 AD. The Great Plaza, Temple I (Temple of the Grand Jaguar), and Temple IV offer jaw-dropping views above the jungle canopy. The park also teems with wildlife including howler monkeys, toucans, and coatimundis. Sunrise and sunset tours are the most magical experiences.
