About Nebaj

Nebaj is the main town of the Ixil Triangle, one of the most remote and culturally intact indigenous regions in Guatemala. The Ixil Maya people maintain their language, traditional dress, and customs. The area was devastated during Guatemala's civil war and is now a center for community-based tourism. The multi-day trek from Nebaj to Todos Santos is one of the best hikes in Central America, passing through cloud forests and remote villages.
